Dollar Tree has appointed an interim CEO and elected a new chairman in the wake of Richard Dreiling’s departure from the company, which was effective Nov. 3.
Dreiling joined Dollar Tree’s board as executive chairman in March 2022 and was additionally appointed to the role of CEO in January 2023. He had previously served as rival Dollar General’s CEO and chairman from 2008 to 2015
“With my health presenting some new challenges over the past two months, the time is right for me to step away and focus on myself and my family,” said Dreiling.
The company has appointed Michael Creedon Jr., most recently chief operating officer, as interim CEO while it conducts an executive search to identify Dreiling’s successor. Edward Kelly III, lead independent director, has been elected chairman of the board.
Paul Hilal, vice chair of the board, said, “Mike is well-prepared for this new role. It builds upon his important contributions and the expansion of his responsibilities earlier this year.”

Forty-year company veteran and executive Vicki Fishman is retiring from Wright Creative Branding & Labels.
“Vicki has been a part of this company, and my life, for as long as I can remember,” said Don Wright, CEO. “She worked tirelessly to solve problems and offer solutions to her customers and coworkers in our organization. She approached every opportunity with enthusiasm and executed each of her roles with creativity, passion, and integrity. Both professionally and personally, Vicki has been a trusted friend, a respected advisor and an incredible partner. She is like a sister to me, and she will be deeply missed.”
Fishman’s career journey with Wright began as a graphic artist. When she moved to Dalton, Ga., she was instrumental in establishing Wright of Dalton, a division focused on providing innovative solutions for clients in the heart of the floor covering industry. While in Dalton, she worked with companies such as Shaw Industries, Mohawk Industries and Mannington Mills.
When she returned to North Carolina, she continued with Wright as account executive and designer for the sleep products industry. In addition, she held leadership roles at the International Sleep Products Assn., served on the Better Sleep Council and helped to establish ISPA Women’s Network. She also was a member of WithIT.
Fishman finished her career at Wright Global Graphics as vice president of sales and support.
“The Wright Labels team and family congratulate Vicki on her well-deserved retirement, and we celebrate her incredible contributions over the past four decades,” said Wright.
