Rugs America has launched its first machine-washable area rug collection in partnership with the designers from Badgley Mischka.

New Badgley Mischka machine washable rug in Sea Pearl.
The rugs come in new boxed packaging.

The rugs are digitally printed in China on a plush micro-fiber base. The company said that due to its boxed packaging, the new rugs help to streamline inventory management and reduce shipping costs.

“It’s foldable, it does not crease, and it has a non-slip back,” said Ariel Hakimian, Rugs America co-owner. “It is not a zero pile, we do have a soft, textured pile on the rug. Both the 5 x 7 and 8 x 10 sizes come boxed, and they are shelf or pyramid ready.”

Consumers have stated that rug cleaning is one of the major pain points, so the machine-washable feature allows busy households, pet owners, and design-conscious buyers to more easily maintain the rug, according to the company.

Based in Farmingdale, NY, Rugs America is a manufacturer and importer of area rugs established in 1994 by the Hakimian family. The company offers hundreds of designs and thousands of SKUs out of warehouses in Farmingdale, N.Y. and High Point, N.C.

Oriental Weavers has introduced several new rugs that make up the Acacia, Solstice, Soho and Avalon collections.

The Acacia collection is made on an Axminster loom of wool and nylon. The modern Axminster-type power loom is capable of weaving high-quality rugs with many varying colors and patterns and is manufactured all over the world. The 14 new colorways include a variety of slate blue, brown, birch, gold and clay colors.

The new Solstice rugs are available in five sizes.

The Solstice collection is hand-loomed of bamboo silk and wool with a textured cut and loop construction that adds depth. The rugs also feature organic abstract looks in six muted and tonal colorations.

This Avalon rug reworks classic detailed motifs.

The Avalon collection is made up of eight updated classic Persian patterns in updated distressed traditional patterns. Avalon reworks classic detailed motifs in an understated manner via a subtle color palette of warm neutrals with accents of watery blues, golden terracotta and mossy green. These pieces are machine-woven using a super soft space-dyed polyester.

The space-dyed Soho collection is made from yard that has been dyed with regularly repeating sections of colors around the skein.  It includes eight designs that have an organic abstract and modern casual appearance. The rugs are machine-woven in the same color palette as Avalon, making coordination throughout the home simple using similar rugs from the two collections.
