Christopher Todd finds the perfect seat

HIGH POINT – Home Accents Today asked interior designer and retailer Christopher Todd Hall to scout accent chairs for us at last month’s High Point Market and let us know what he would select for his recently relocated retail store, Christopher Todd Living, in Nashville, Tenn.

“When selecting the perfect accent chair, I take a few things into consideration,” Todd told us. “Of course, the look is important, but more importantly, I think that comfort and construction are important factors to consider.

“Depending on the space, I want my client to think more of a piece than ‘it’s pretty’; I want them to fall in love with the comfort and the thought that went into selecting the piece.

“Of course, value is always important as well, so I have to take that into consideration to make sure it fits within my budget while serving the needs of my client. If a chair is going to be placed in a guest room that is rarely used, I will select something that may have the right look, but a bit more budget friendly as opposed to a chair that is going to be used in an area with high traffic that requires more durability in both fabrication and fabric.”

Here are his top three picks:

The Meyer Chair from the Tamara Day Collection by Spectra Home

The Meyer Chair caught my eye as the perfect accent chair for a bedroom. It is comfortable and sleek, featuring a beautiful wood finish with brushed brass accents on the arms, which makes it feel substantial without overpowering a room. The Meyer chair is also offered at a great price point and stocked as shown for quick shipping.

The Bellmore Chair is the perfect piece for so many settings. I love the clean octagonal lines, offering perfect support for your body.  This chair swivels and I love how it floats with a center support, making it feel light and not too heavy for a room.  I would use the Bellmore Chair in a bedroom, family room or game room.  The chair is offered in any fabric or leather from Fairfield, or also available in COM.

The Haus Chair by Moss Home

The Haus Chair caught my eye because of its shape and clean lines. The chair is a swivel, but is also offered as a stationary piece, and it’s incredibly comfortable. The great thing about Moss Furniture is it is all made in Los Angeles, and you can fully customize the piece if needed to fit a space, including size, foam density, and of course, fabric. This is a great chair for a living room, family room, game room or bedroom. Available in hundreds of fabric and leather choices from Moss, or COM is available, all with a short lead time.
