Boll & Branch opens unique “cube” format store

OAKBROOK, Ill. – DTC bedding brand Boll & Branch has expanded its omnichannel presence with a new type of store in Chicagoland.

The company opened its latest retail outpost Oct. 15 in Oakbrook Center using what its describes as “a new and unique” format. The store is located in a sleek 778-sq.-ft. glass cube.

“While it’s smaller than typical Boll & Branch locations, this store will serve as a highly visible branding opportunity,” the company said. “The retail space is crafted to capture the brand’s essence, featuring carefully curated assortments alongside Boll & Branch’s standout products.”

Visual displays include a complete holiday showcase and a bed adorned with holiday offerings – both designed to attract passersby.

“This unique space represents a first for the brand, enabling [Boll & Branch] to meet their target audience where they’re at and to experiment with new retail formats in various markets,” the company said.

Oakbrook is Boll & Branch’s 8th retail location. The privately owned company also operates stores in Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Short Hills, N.J., Shrewsbury, N.J.; Greenwich, Conn.; and Boca Raton, Fla.

The company generated an estimated $196 million in home textiles sales in 2023, according to HTT’s annual Top 50 Retailers report.

Boll & Branch launched in 2014 with a focus on 100% organic cotton sheets. It has since expanded into duvet sets, blankets, comforters, sleep pillows and bath towels.
